Expert Statement

Florian Schneider’s research interests include questions of governance, public administration, and political communication in the Chinese-speaking world. He researches communication strategies (propaganda, censorship, misinformation) and the political contents of media, with a particular focus on digital China, but also on digital East Asia more broadly. He further interests include recent Chinese economic developments and foreign affairs in the East Asian region. He is managing editor of the academic journal ‘Asiascape: Digital Asia’ and director of the Leiden Asia Centre.
