My main motivation as an academic is to increase the effectiveness and accountability of child welfare systems by improving our scientific understanding of the variations in child protection outcomes that are decision-based. My research interests include the disparities in child protection decision-making, the impact of professionals’ personal attributes in decisions, the participation of children and families in the decision-making processes, and the variations of decision-making policy across countries.
