Expert Statement

My core expertise lies in the nature, risk factors, and (preventive and curative) treatment of (disturbed) grief following deaths of loved ones in adults, children, and families. Much of my research is concerned with “traumatic grief” (combinations of disturbed grief, depression, and posttraumatic stress) following “traumatic loss” (deaths of loved on in unnatural, violent, and/or unexpected circumstances). I am a researcher as well as a clinical practitioner–affiliated with ARQ Centrum’45 as licenced psychotherapist.
